Businesses support Southwest Light Rail as the next leg of the Twin Cities transit system.
This legislative session is the time to SUPPORT FUNDING for transit that will serve jobs & reduce traffic.
The Minnesota Legislature is debating transit funding right now. They need to hear:
WE NEED BETTER TRANSIT TO COMPETE FOR JOBS
80 percent of current transit users are traveling to work or school. Better transit improves travel times and reliability, reduces business costs, and will attract the next generation of employees to our region.
TRANSIT IS A GOOD INVESTMENT
The business-led Itasca Project evaluated transit’s “return on investment” in the Minneapolis-St. Paul region. The study found a complete transit system would produce regional benefits of $2 to $9 billion.
MINNESOTANS WANT MORE TRANSIT
In a statewide poll conducted for the chambers this January, nearly 80% of Minnesotans agree the state would benefit from an expanded and improved public transit system. A strong majority of Democrats, Independents, and Republicans believe the state benefits from an expanded and improved transit system.
